Welcome to Wilderness Medical Training
WMT has led the field for 25 years in delivering expert expedition medical training courses for laypeople and medics. Expert – great value – inspiring.

To begin exploring the site, first decide which stream of courses is most appropriate to you, EXPLORER or MEDIC.
Explorer courses represent one-stop shopping and expert training from doctors for non-medically trained people who want to learn advanced medical skills, use prescription medications abroad and obtain expert pre-travel medical advice. Far From Help 2-day foundation training includes medications. Advanced Medicine over 4-days also includes invasive procedures; stapling wounds, giving fluids subcutaneously and intramuscular injections. The 7 day Expedition Skills course combines bush craft, bush mechanic skills, personal security training and advanced navigation/GPS training with Far From Help.
Medic courses are practical, inspiring and enjoyable and aim to equip aspiring or seasoned expedition doctors and nurses with the knowledge, skills and insights needed to confidently provide effective medical support on any expedition. In the UK we offer Mountain Medicine and Expedition Medic (both 2 days). Chamonix, at the foot of Mont Blanc is the base for WMT’s legendary Expedition Medicine winter course and Expedition Medicine & Field Skills summer course. Mountain Medicine on Skis in Chamonix is the newest course. Further afield there’s the full on week-long Morocco Mountain Medicine Expedition. The 7 day Expedition Skills course combines bush craft, bush mechanic skills, personal security training and advanced navigation/GPS training with the Expedition Medic course. All Medic courses attract CPD points.
