The Morocco Mountain Medicine Expedition 27 September – 3 October is going ahead. This exotic trip is packed with medical tuition and practical skills training (rope work, navigation and such) and culminates with an ascent of Jbel Toubkal (4167m), the highest mountain in North Africa followed by a night in Marrakech. Experience inspiring teaching and how an expedition should be expertly administered and led. Delegates from diverse medical backgrounds attend to live together and immerse themselves in many facets of austere medicine. 3 venues in-country starting from the plush Kasbah du Toubkal, moving up to a mountain refuge and one final night in a central Marrakech hotel. Excellent preparation to become more confident in the hills and build the skills of a mountain medic. Fully inclusive of all in-country services and arrangements (food, accommodation, transport).  30 CPD hours. See the webpage for full details about new favourable covid rules and simple re-entry to England test requirements, travel insurance, cheap flights, fees & online booking and more. And for more beautiful images of this trip see this special newsletter. See you in Maroc!

Adventure Medicine report

Last week saw our group of Adventure Medicine delegates enjoy the hottest week of the year on the shore of Ullswater, in Glenridding, The Lake District. EXPERIENTIAL was the word of the week. Active, fun and informative – everyone enjoyed the course and departed enthused and ready for more. “Has been an excellent 5 days!” wrote one delegate. This combined lake and mountain formula is a winner and we’re already planning to get summer 2022 dates in the diary very soon.

Adventure Medicine photos & feedback

What a fantastic result in the Lake District last week on the first Adventure Medicine Medic course. An amazing group of delegates, great weather, dream team of instructors and so much fun, learning, vitamin D and friendship. See this special PHOTOS & FEEDBACK publication. One delegate said, “By far the best medical course I’ve been to”.

Spaces are still available on the 21-25 July course. For full syllabus details and online booking visit this page.

What a glorious day to summit Helvellyn via Striding Edge.
Early wild swimming was popular with many delegates.

Morocco expedition update

We’re hopeful our Morocco Mountain Medicine Expedition will run 27 September – 3 October and we are monitoring the local situation closely. Recently, it was brilliant to read news on Instagram that Hajj, our local friend and manager of our main venue – Kasbah du Toubkal – just had his first Covid-19 vaccination. Meanwhile, the Kasbah team is keeping busy with maintenance tasks and shovelling snow! If you’d like to be on the email list for direct updates about the expedition please email WMT.
